The South African Police Service (SAPS) has launched an urgent investigation into the kidnapping of 74-year-old businessman Ebrahim Moosa, who was abducted outside his workplace in Kruisrivier on the morning of February 11. According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, Moosa arrived at his business premises on Cuyler Street around 10:00 when another vehicle followed him onto the property and blocked his path. Three unidentified suspects exited the vehicle and forcibly removed Moosa before fleeing the scene in a double cab LDV. Authorities are still working to determine the motive behind the abduction. “At this stage, the motive is unclear, but the police are actively investigating the incident,” Captain Janse van Rensburg confirmed.
We urge business owners to book a HEAT workshop to enhance personal safety measures.
A Growing Concern for Business Owners
Moosa’s abduction comes amid rising concerns over the targeting of business owners in the Nelson Mandela Bay area. Reports indicate an increase in kidnappings involving entrepreneurs, raising alarms about organised crime activities in the region. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may help prevent further incidents. Meanwhile, efforts to locate Moosa and apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
