29 Jan Kidnappings Shake Free State
The Free State is reeling from two alarming kidnappings. In Phuthaditjhaba, nine suspects will appear in court on 3 February for allegedly kidnapping a family. Police rescued the victims and arrested suspects in Beruit and Sharpeville, recovering cash, phones, and a pistol. Authorities suspect ransom as the motive.
Meanwhile, in Virginia, three men were charged with kidnapping and attempted murder after abducting and assaulting a man at a car wash. They planned to kill him and dump his body in the Tikwe River, but police intervened just in time.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
